Sick Creativity

What a weekend!  Friday I was sitting on the couch enjoying the fact that my long week was finally over and then it hit me...THE BIG MACK TRUCK...

I literally felt like someone had pushed me down a flight of stairs.  Now seeing that I had been in pain a good part of the week and had just taken something to help with the pain about an hour before it hit me, I couldn't really take anything else.

I was happy to see when I signed on to the computer earlier this evening that I had a bunch of messages and I was given a few new awards.  I want to thank Davidd, Psycho Babbling Basher and 7Ladybugsz for the wonderful awards and I would like to thank Colie for the shout out about the blog buttons.  I'm glad everyone found it useful.  I really am honored.

While I sat on my phat butt this weekend I decided I needed to do something other than sleep the day away (even though sleeping would have been most productive).  Soooo...I ventured into bead-dome once again.  I set up camp on the corner of the couch and blocked myself in.

(Click the link below to continue reading this post.)
My 9 year old sat next to me pretty much the entire time and kept herself busy too.  We made lots and lots of beautiful things that I want to share with you now.

I will first show you my 9 year old Amber's work.  She made several book marks, a pair of earrings and a key chain...enjoy:

Amber's Work
Bookmark she made for her girlfriend.

Bookmark she made for me.

Bookmark she made for her teacher.

Bookmark she made for herself.

Earrings she made for her sister.

Key chain she made for her sister.

I think she did a fantastic job with all her creations.

Now for mine.  I guess being sick brought out the creative juices.  I think it was because I didn't have the energy to do much of anything else so it came out this way.  Hope you enjoy and let me know what you think...

My Work

Really not messy but it just looks like it with all the beads everywhere.

Bronze glass & crystal beads with a ceramic carved pendant.

Enamel pendant with glass, ceramic and stone beads.

I was very excited about this one and I think it came together quite well.
Take a look.

Plane Jane Earrings of Labradorite and Sterling Silver.

Metal key charms with silver and shell chip beads.

Sterling Silver Lotus flower charm surrounded by natural stones on a Sterling Silver Figaro chain.

Wooden beads adorned with oriental symbols/writing on stretchy cord.

Enamel pendant on silver chain with seed bead stand weaved in.

Sterling Silver round beads strung on steel wire.

Genuine chalk turquoise beads adorned with inspirational charms.

I hope you enjoyed them.  I guess being sick paid off a little.  I'm feeling better and am glad that I could jump on to share.  Hope everyone had an awesome weekend!  Let me know what you think!

Sick

The last 2 days have sucked...not only did I not get the job I honestly thought I was more qualified for but I got a nasty cold or maybe even a touch of the flu.  My sinuses have gone bonkers and today I feel more normal than I have all week.  My headache has gone away and that is the best feeling...

Yesterday was an asshole to a few people...so if you are reading this and you were one of them, I apologize.  I was feeling like shit; fever, horrible headache, cough and I couldn't breath.  So, again, I'm sorry if I was an asshole to you...wasn't intentional and remember I am not perfect, or I wouldn't be any fun!!!

This weekend should be super fun!  I completely screwed up my days and times and everything.  I have an appointment tomorrow to get my teeth cleaned and I really don't want to go.  I'm feeling better but not 100%.  I have to make a couple pieces of jewelry for a charity raffle and I have no idea what to make and I need to write another article for the Examiner.

Well, I really have nothing else to say so I hope you all have a great weekend!

Par-tay

Well, just as I thought I slept like shit last night seeing that I slept on the couch.  My youngest was up and down a good part of the night and so I didn't really sleep but a few minutes here and there.  I did go up to my bed when the husband left for work though with my daughter around 5am and went to sleep up there and slept until abut 10am with her.  She finally fell asleep solidly around 4ish.  Now I have this nagging headache that doesn't seem to want to go away no matter what I take.  Oh well, such is my life.

I am going to my neighbors Christmas party tonight and seeing that my youngest hasn't been sick since late last night I think she'll be OK to go too.  I'll go for a few hours then come back home and try to get some normal sleep.

I am excited about going because we are doing a grab-bag/secret Santa type thing so I'll be getting a gift...probably the only one I'll get this Christmas so I am happy.  Or should I be sad...I don't know.  I'll stay with happy.

So, today I've baked 2 pans of brownies, a gluten free batch and a regular batch and made some garlic dip for some pretzels and have some cheese and sausage to cut up and I'll be all good.  The husband will be mad at me for doing so much but oh well.  I always seem to over do.  Sometimes that's not always a good thing.

Well, I gotta move because I have a date with some cheese, sausage, a cutting board and a very sharp knife.
