ABC COOKIES...take a peek...you know you want to.

I, for one, am glad this weekend is over.  Besides dealing with sick kids and a somewhat sick husband it was long and I'm glad it's over, but as always there's never enough time to get everything done I want to get done.  Yesterday (as well as Saturday) I had the bright idea to make cookies.  I started on Saturday with making some Peanut Butter Blossoms and Cream Wafers.  My intentions were only to make a couple dozen Peanut Butter Blossoms but wound up making like 10 dozen and the same with the Cream Wafers and the cream wafers are no simple task my friends...  But as my mom said to me, "Oh, but Kimmie, the end result is so worth the hassle of making the cream wafers."  She was right...they are so melt in your mouth good it's not even funny!

And it didn't end there.  My Aunt gave me some cookie cutters last holiday season to make some gingerbread man cookies...

Well, I made some yesterday because the weather looked like this....

So here are a couple pictures of how it went...

How's that for Gingerbread Man Cookies?  I love them...they make me smile.  But I think it was a "sweet" way to end the ridiculous weekend I had that started on Wednesday evening. 

I can't believe Christmas is only like 2 weeks away.  As usual I've not done any shopping or anything...not that I have money to do that.  This year is going to be very sparse...UGH!!!

Well, gotto get to work...have a GREAT day!  Stay warm...brrrr...

Too Many Cookies

Well today I baked a lot of cookies...I mean A LOT!  I baked nearly 10 dozen peanut butter blossom cookies and then baked 10 dozen cream wafers.  I was only going to bake a dozen or two peanut butter cookies with my 9 year old but she ditched me after only putting about 8 on her tray and left me with the rest so what possessed me to make another 8 dozen from that point is beyond me. 

The snow is piling up now and we are expecting something like 5 inches over night with possible downed wired and tree limbs after they froze from the rain earlier.  Oh Yay!!!!

My little dog is being all weird because my husband is yelling at the hockey game and is trying to sit on me while I type...not working.  I should be tired right now and ready for bed but I don't feel tired.  If Starbucks was open it would be nice....oh well.

Tonight we went through all our Wii games and went to the Game Stop down the road and traded them in.  We got something like $65.00 for all of them so we go the new NHL Slap Shot game.  It's pretty cool.  Actually it was more for my husband than myself but it looks cool.  Then we got a bucket of chicken and went home.  We got home just in time for the snow to start.  My oldest daughter wanted to go driving around tonight and go up to Wisconsin and couldn't understand why I said no when we are under a Winter Storm Warning....hmmmm....I said we were going to get a lot of snow and she said, "how much is a lot?"  OMG!  I so want to scream sometimes when she cannot understand simple reasoning. 

I think I will have a glass of milk, have a cookie or two because I deserve it and then shut the computer down for the night.  Tomorrow is the start of a new day and a new week.  I hope it's a good one for everyone!

The Things Inside My Head

I am not sure what to write about these last couple days to be completely honest.  I feel all scatter-brained and forgetful.  It's been a busy and strange week so I guess that has something to do with it.  I wish I could focus. 

I am going to start baking Christmas cookies this weekend...maybe even tonight, so that should take my mind off things I don't need t be thinking about.  Maybe that will help me focus.  We'll see.  I think I will start out by making some dough and freezing it to get it ready for baking.  But I really want to make sure I make the cream wafers this year.  They are so GOOD!!!  Not like an orgasm good but they are close to it!  Haha!

Like I think I stated in an earlier blog, I baked about 20 different kinds last year and they were a hit.  Not too shabby for being my first year making cookies.  I plan on making some of the same kinds as last year and maybe a couple other ones...like the Cream Wafers  YUM!

So today I don't feel like I've completed so much.  I've put labels on some envelopes to get ready for a mailing and I did some billing stuff and the rest of what I did I can't account for...I looked at the clock and it said 7:32am and the next time I looked it was like 11:20; I don't know how that happened.

I can't wait until 3:30 today.  I get off work and then I'm heading over to get my nails filled and cut down a little shorter.  I got a new set of acrylic nails done early last week and definitely got them done way toooo looooong!  I can type just as fast on my work computer but the clicking is so loud!!!  I can't type on my laptop at home because I keep hitting all the wrong keys...lol!  So down they go; not gone just shorter.  I think I may go with the color blue again too...I'll post a picture later...maybe.

So as you can see my life is boring.  If the world outside my head where as loud, chaotic and crazy as the world inside my head it might be a little more fun!  Haha!

Well, for now I am going to go because I'm starting to yawn.  Maybe I'll be on and be a bit more philosophical later.
