A carnival is the best way for all to come and experience the true magic of any culture. The Long Beach carnival is a street carnival truly depicting the true Brazilian taste on the streets of California. With the next carnival stated for Sunday spetember 19th 2010 all are eagerly awaiting to feast on the exotic Brazilian cuisines and the grandest costumes which add color and flavor to this enormous carnival. The 13th annual carnival will thrill millions at the newly built Promenade amphitheater.

The children were the theme of the carnival in 2009 and the samba dancers made this event a magnificent experience for all the visitors. The best of Brazilian food and drinks including the caipirinhas and churrasco by world famous chefs made it even more memorable for all. With the king and queen of the Rio carnival giving a glimpse of the world famous parade in Rio and even giving a brief lesson in samba this was one of the most amazing moment for the samba fans in this part of the world. Many cruises are organized for the visitors which further add to this jubilant carnival experience. With so much to offer all can only anticipate the fun, color and great music that the carnival in 2010 will hold for everyone.

Nice pics. Everyone should experience the Carnival in Rio once in their lifetime to see the renowned parades at Sambodromo. In the North Zone are Maracana stadium and Rio zoo, which are most visited by tourist.The West Zone comprises of cities like Jacarepagua, Recreio, the newly formed Barra de Tijuca, Campo Grande, Santa Cruz to site a few.Shopping malls are found in Barra de Tijuca.

Brazil Carnival Muses
Brazil Muses and Queens are integral part of the Brazilian Carnaval show. They have an important role and we could not imagine the parades in Brazil without their beauty and elegant dances. Many who are not familiar with the Carnival culture of Brazil may suppose they are only there to show-off great bodies, but that is not their cultural purpose.

Their magic is much more powerful than mortals like us can suppose. Some say they are capable to hypnotize and cast a spell in unattentive hearts. We have seen Carnival Goddesses and Queens during some carnivals “stealing” part of the show, because of their incredile performances. Samba historians have said that the figure of Brazilian samba muses go back to the beginning of Rio´s official Carnival celebrations. In 1950, Elvira Pagã was elected the first Rio Carnival Queen through a contest arranged by the ACC – the Carnival Journalists Association.

The Drums Queen element on the other hand, was introduced in the 1970´s, and popularized in the 1980´s. Some Carnaval historians point out that the first real Carnival Drum Queen was the Brazilian model Monique Evans, when she paraded with great sensuality, energy and passion in front of Mocidade Independente´s Drum Section, in 1985. Others still state that the first Queen of the Drums, was Nanana Meirelles, the mother of today´s President of Estação Primeira de Mangueira Samba-School.
